When designing for children, especially for educational purposes, it’s important that the image engages but at the same time conveys the desired message or information. And picture books are the best thing that can happen to a kid. It can take them to other places in the world (and beyond). A good book with a great story and interesting illustrations can be read over and over again.
Character
When illustrating I usually start with a character design. This is the base of the whole design. What would the character look like in different emotions and various poses? Does he like skating or does she prefer blue flowers, etcetera.
Infographic / Instructions
Some products or services need some explaining. The best way is using images, because who want to read a large texts?
Pattern
Seamless (vector) pattern designs that can be used for wrapping paper, fabric, stationery and so on. Some are for sale for personal and non-exclusive commercial use. It’s also possible to have a custom pattern (set) made.
